SUMMER ARTS EXPERIENCE
Fun first! From July 2 to 20, 2018 BROOKLYN ARTS FOR KIDS will embark on its eighth summer of making art and play all day.
This year we’re adding BAK Open Studio for artists 12 to 14 years old for their own mentored independent show!
BROOKLYN ARTS FOR KIDS offers young artists a joyful exploration of both the visual and performing arts. Teaching artists Belinda Blum and Eric “Wally” Wallach provide a supportive path of explorations in visual art and performance.
Kids ages 7 to 11 spend the day in the art studio, on the stage and in Prospect Park. With Belinda everyone experiences painting, collage, sculpting and drawing. With Wally the ensemble will play games, sing, dance and act as well as write, direct and run the show too. Each Friday features an Artist Share. We also take art adventures to places such as the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and the Whitney Museum of Art.

Brooklyn Arts for Kids provides a creative space for young people in search of the skills to express themselves both in the art studio and/or in performance. Here all children are artists by the way they listen, look and play. Through a thoughtful and compassionate art-making process they are encouraged to discover their voice and use it.

We have been amazed year after year to see the magic that happens when kids open themselves up to the art-making process and to working together as an ensemble. This process depends on kids who are committed to following instructions and working collaboratively with others. Please contact us if you want to discuss further whether this experience would be right for your child.
