From July 3 to 21, 2017 BROOKLYN ARTS FOR KIDS will embark on its seventh summer of fun and art.

BROOKLYN ARTS FOR KIDS offers young artists a joyful exploration of both the visual and performing arts.  Teaching artists Belinda Blum and Eric “Wally” Wallach provide a supportive path of explorations in visual art and performance.

During the Visual and Performing Arts Experience kids, ages 7 to 11, will spend half their day in the studio painting, printmaking, making collages, sculptures and drawing.  The rest of the day is in Prospect Park playing, singing, dancing and performing.  Young artists will also work with visiting artists and take trips to places such as the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens and the Brooklyn Museum of Art.

Throughout the three weeks everyone is engaged in ongoing projects that culminate in exhibitions and performances on Fridays.

Our videos give you a good sense of what we do.  Check ’em out!

Brooklyn Arts for Kids provides a creative space for young people in search of the skills to express themselves both in the art studio and/or in performance.  Here all children are artists by the way they listen, look and play. Through a thoughtful and compassionate art-making process they are encouraged to discover their voice and use it.

We have been amazed year after year to see the magic that happens when kids open themselves up to the art-making process and to working together as an ensemble.  This process depends on kids who are committed to following instructions and working collaboratively with others.  Please contact us if you want to discuss further whether this experience would be right for your child.
